Pho Cow Cali is a full service Vietnamese restaurant located in beautiful San Diego, California. The Pho Cow Cali Restaurant has been awarded for the San Diego’s Best Food Restaurants in 2002 and 2003!

We're looking for caring, enthusiastic people who are passionate about preparing and serving unique tasting and beautifully presented food to join our team.

Life at Pho Cow Cali is with strong service friendly attitude, professional grooming appearance, be outgoing, reliable and punctual, possess initiative, flexible hours and be a team player. Food and beverage service workers and kitchen staff derive their earnings from a combination of hourly wages and tips. Wage varies depending on experience.

BEVERAGE PREPARATION

Job Description:

  • Take beverage orders from Waiter/Waitress serving staff or directly from patrons;
  • Prepare alcoholic (beer or wine) beverages, mixed sweet, juices, soft drinks, water, coffee, tea and other ingredients to prepare shakes and other drinks;
  • Prompt and efficient preparation of beverage for Beverage Server to deliver;
  • Handle glassware carefully to prevent breakage;
  • Clean bar area and wash glassware and boiler maker machines;
  • Maintain inventory and control of Beverage stock and order supplies.

Job Description:

  • Delivery of beverage to guests in a timely matter;
  • Monitor and observe guest dining experience;
  • Ensure guests with satisfaction;
  • Respond promptly and courteously to requests;
  • Assist fellow server;
  • Assist bus person with clearing and resetting of tables;
  • Professionally maintaining high quality and service standards while ensuring the customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

  • Clear, clean and reset tables after guests have departed;
  • Keep cleanliness tables, set of sauces and chairs;
  • Maintain clean, safe and sanitary dining areas for guests;
  • Take tableware and glassware to the Dishwasher in the dish room;
  • Clean up other areas as required.

CHEF COOK

Job Description:

  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities and who prepare and cook meals and specialty foods;
  • Plan menus, create and follow recipes and ensure food meets quality standards;
  • Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labor costs;
  • Supervise activities of Beverage Preparation, Beverage Server, Busboy, Cashier, Chef Cook, Cook Assistants, Dishwashers, and Waiter/waitress;
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs;
  • May prepare and cook food on a regular basis;
  • Creativity in food preparation and presentation;
  • A good sense of taste and smell, vision, good hand-eye co-ordination;
  • Be self-disciplined and able to work quickly, carefully and safely;
  • Have good verbal communication skills and be able to work well with others in the kitchen and in food service, good supervisory skills;
  • Good recordkeeping and basic financial skills are required to maintain inventories, order supplies.

  • Be able to adapt to unusual requests and circumstances;
  • Be well-organized, able to oversee activities in several work areas at once;
  • Have clean work habits and knowledge of food safety procedures;
  • Prepare and deliver complete meals, or specialty foods, such as spring rolls, egg rolls, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays to patrons;
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and to work in hot and humid environments;
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Be self-disciplined and able to work quickly, carefully and safely.

  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle;
  • Keep dish room cleaned and organized;
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designed times;
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies;
  • Clean food preparation and cooking areas as required.
